Water-Based Coated Paper Cups Standard Released

"On December 29, 2021, the China Paper Association officially approved and released the group standard T/CPA 001-2021, titled 'Water-Based Coated Paper Cups (Including Water-Based Coated Paper Cup Paper).'  This landmark standard represents China's inaugural national standard for water-based coated paper products and includes provisions addressing the recyclability of such products for the first time, thereby addressing a longstanding industry need.

In recent years, water-based coated paper products have risen as innovative substitutes for traditional laminated paper items.  These products, in contrast to their traditional counterparts, boast recyclability and repulpability, making them vital for energy conservation, carbon reduction, and curbing environmental pollution.

The future promises a significant role for the group standard 'Water-Based Coated Paper Cups (Including Water-Based Coated Paper Cup Paper),' not only in setting benchmarks but also in propelling industry advancement, standardizing corporate production, elevating product quality, and contributing to regulatory oversight."
